Knee Wall Space: Under Insulated
John is a past customer of ours who had LeafGuard® Gutters installed on his unique 1925 Beaverdale, Iowa home. With many memories and history behind his home, John loved living in this wonderful neighborhood. Working on upgrading and creating a comfortable living space, John knew he needed to invest in insulating his home. John’s home like many other homes in the Beaverdale area is built with slanted ceilings in their attic. This creates an area called Knee Walls and they are the biggest struggle to keep insulated. A short wall called a Knee Wall forms a triangular space that can be accessed with a short door or access panel in the attic. The floor of the knee wall space forms the ceiling of the room below it. A lot of homeowners tend to use this space for storage.

We went out to John’s home to evaluate his attic. Providing him with a Home Performance Evaluation, we identified areas in which heat was escaping.
